Mr. Kamel Ayadi, President of the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO), delivered a speech on November 3 to The Tsinghua Forum, entitled “The Role of Engineers and WFEO in Delivering the Millennium Development Goals.”

“Engineers play an important role in delivering the millennium development goals,” said Mr. Ayadi in his speech. He also talked about poverty, gender equality, and talents loss. Mr. Ayadi noted that engineers should possess a global view, be adaptable and cooperative, and contribute to the realization of the Millennium Development Goals.

After the speech, Mr. Ayadi answered questions raised by the students. Professor Xue Lan, Deputy Chair of the School of Public Policy and Management, hosted the speech.

The Tsinghua Forum features speakers who address a wide range of topics, including science and technology, economics, and society and culture as they relate to the development of China and the world. The Tsinghua Forum convenes four times a year.
